Spark of Halloween: Halloween treats
Hi everyone! For today’s blog, I made 3 delicious treats for Halloween. Let me know in the comments or on Twitter which one is your favourite.
Spider cupcakes
I am a real cupcake lover so I couldn’t go without a cupcake idea for this blog. I used the same cupcake recipe I always use but the decoration inspiration came from Pinterest.
What you need for 24 cupcakes:
150g Butter, sugar paste, dark chocolate, 4 eggs, white chocolate, oreo’s, cupcakes mix, 30ml water, sugar decoration eyes, cupcake baking mould
How to make:
I always use a cupcake mix for my cupcakes because I think they are better when I use a mix than when I make them myself. To make the cupcake dough I use the mix, 4 eggs, 30ml water and 150g butter. Put it all together in a bowl and divide the dough into 24 cupcake moulds. Bake in the oven for 18 minutes at 180°C.
Decorate:
Let the cupcakes cool down. Take the sugar paste and knead the dough until it’s soft and make circle shapes of the paste. Put them on top of the cupcakes. Melt the chocolate and put it in a piping bag and make the paws of the spider and a dot in the middle of the cupcake. Place the oreo on the dot to glue it to the cupcake. Melt white chocolate an put it in a piping bag as well. We used white chocolate to glue the eyes of the spider to the oreo cookie: place two little dots on the oreo and place the eyes on it. Enjoy!
Candy sticks
This is so fast, easy and cheap! And it’s a nice alternative to giving candy to the kids who are trick or treating.
What you need:
Saté sticks& Halloween candy
How to make:
Take the saté sticks and slide the Halloween candy on it! But be careful because I stabbed myself in my hand with the saté sticks!
Mummy cookies
This cookie recipe is one of my all-time favourites! I found it years ago on a Dutch blog: Cookies ‘n Cupcakes.
What you need for 24 cookies.:
50g Bloem, ¼ teaspoon baking powder, 250g sugar, pinch of salt, 2 eggs, 50g butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla aroma, 300g dark chocolate, white chocolate, sugar decoration eyes
How to make:
Melt 175 dark chocolate and 50g butter and mix them together. Let it cool down. Zeef in a bowl the flour, baking powder and salt. Put aside. Klop in a bowl the eggs, sugar and vanilla. Stir the melted chocolate and butter with eggs mixture and add the flour mixture. To finish the dough, take the other 115g dark chocolate and chop it up into little pieces. Put these pieces in the dough
Shovel buns of 1 tablespoon of dough on baking paper. Bake the cookies 8 to 10 minutes in the oven at 160 ° C.
Decorate:
Melt white chocolate and put it in a piping bag. Use it to make the mummy on the cookie. Also, put two dots on the cookie at the place you want to eyes to be. Put the sugar decoration eyes on top of the dots to glue them to the cookie.
